SHIPWRECK, Shoreham 1999

Tom wanted a picture of the shipwreck which he photographed the following day when the tide was out and the storm was passed. The violende of the sea and the storm had to be recreated. They managed to refloat the vessel on the following tide, a digger was used to cut a bit of a channel, and once the tide had returned a tug pulled her into the channel and back to deep water. The reproduction here is poor because of the large size of the original which had to be scanned in six pieces.

Commissioned by Tom Patten.

Watercolour - Original size 30ins x 24 ins.
