Solitude on the Coventry Canal.

I am pretty certain that this image was taken from the Coventry Canal. However on a recent trip I was unable to find the location. Perhaps the pine has gone, or I was distracted at a key moment.

I do remember the peace and quiet though. The gulls came down to feed on the freshly ploughed field. In the distance a tractor could faintly be heard, a dog barked and a cow lowed.

A Bolinder approached and our boat gently curtsied to the approaching bow wave. The Bolinder slowed to the jolly uneven jog of a Bolinder's tick-over, the boatman nodded to me, his wife on the butty nodded to my wife, then having passed our boat it picked up speed and disappeared through the bridge, and was gone. All was quiet again.
